Furnishing Your New Home

Education & Training with Realities and Dreams

Did you purchase a new home recently?  Do you already have furniture for your new home?

These days there offers everywhere about financing furniture!  Ads on TV, on the internet, newspapers, or even billboards alongside the highway!

Financing furniture is a bad idea, especially after just purchasing a new home!  There are plenty of other options for furnishing your home.

Financing Furniture is Expensive

Financing furniture is going to cost you more money in the long run!  It isn’t only interest that makes it cost more either.

If you are going to those "rent to own" establishments, they charge double or more of what an item is worth!

Adds More Debt

Do you already have debt?  Well, of course, you do, at a minimum, you have a house payment!

Owning your own home can be expensive!  You have preventative maintenance o keep up on and if anything breaks you need it repaired.

As well as your mortgage and interest, you have insurance costs and property taxes.

Do not stretch yourself thin by adding another payment and finance your furniture!

Try This Instead

Try out Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for your home furnishing needs.

If you need to finance the furniture, you can’t afford it in the first place.

Find cheap furniture for now and save money for whatever you want.

Remember, furniture is not a NEED, it is a WANT.

Don’t forget to try to live more frugally to save money for your new furniture.  Also, start a budget to help with this goal!
