Recently heard this from someone whose conversations I always enjoy. We each wind up with a few gems after even a short chat.

This was the latest one:

 

'In a weak market, a strong closer will sell more than

a weak closer will sell in a strong market.'

 

 

This one rings true. You don't hear a successful salesperson complain about a slow market.

 

Do you agree with this statement?

Yes, I agree. A strong closer will sell more in any market. It's always a good time to buy or sell when the clients have a reason.

I can't for the life of me understand why this post is not featured with a gold star. I always tell those I'm mentoring the goal is "Always be closing!" Don't sit around getting ready to get ready..consistent production is the key in our business and can be achieved when you market like you mean it consistently!

Good point and probably agree, but I don't sell real estate!  I am more in tune with ABC.  Since I don't close typically except at the beginning of a contract agreement, I use ABSY.  

Always Be Selling Yourself.  Well, not really yourself as much as keeping a client completely informed and in the loop of the entire contract.  Things go much better when communication is crystal clear and there is constant feedback.  Thank you, Margaret!

Amen to this!  Back in the crash lots of people went belly up - while others thrived on short sales and had some of their best years.  Same in lending - rates go up and many lenders drop out of the business, while others find the opportunity in that market.  Regardless of outside conditions, the strong survive.

Well, you know you get a big AMEN from me, Margaret! I remember those who blogged away at how busy they were in RE, ashamed to share with the world that they were basically, retired from the business during the recession. Those of us who didn't know any better, pushed on...always Closing!

It's like the ABC's of life in our former profession (airway, breathing, circulation), ABCs are important to survive in our business too (ALWAYS be Closing)!

Well I will never be a salesperson or strong closer.  I'm a facilitator and negotiator on the side of the client, but I don't like pushy salespeople and I'll never be one.  With all that said, I survived the recession with flying colors.
