Do You Agree?

Recently heard this from someone whose conversations I always enjoy. We each wind up with a few gems after even a short chat.

This was the latest one:

'In a weak market, a strong closer will sell more than

a weak closer will sell in a strong market.'

This one rings true. You don't hear a successful salesperson complain about a slow market.

Do you agree with this statement?

Always Be Closing ABC

Reminds me of the sign above!

Hello Margaret - those who have been around real estate through different markets understand and agree there is a lot of truth in the statement you shared.

Good morning, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland the goal that I think is most important is consistent production.... with that success, one won't think about slow and plentiful...there will always be a steady pace and a good total for the end of the year....

Good morning Margaret. A slow market is an opportunity to capture a bigger piece of the pie. Enjoy your day

Hi Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland this reminds me of when I first moved to the Phoenix area in 93 from Flagstaff. Our RE market in Flagstaff was strong and it was normal to sell high end homes as well as 1st timers. Moving to PHX I quickly realized it was a totally different market and a very 'down' market. That didn't stop me, I continued to sell homes while the other agents in my office were complaining about no business. I either didn't know enough to 'buy into' that down market or I just couldn't partake in that mindset! More likely the latter.

Barbara Todaro So true. When you work and market with consistency, the production is also steady.

I was first licensed in November 1981.  The interest rate was an incendiary 18 1/2%.  Yet, I was successful my first year.  Every market has its in-road.  In that 1981 market, it was the one house in 9 that had a good assumable loan with low equity.

Myrl Jeffcoat For me it was 1990. Listed and sold a house the first week. They said it was beginner's luck.  The second house listed and sold and they said I was just lucky.  The harder we work, the more risks we take, and the more contacts we make...the luckier we get. Thank goodness for luck!

Thanks for the feature in one of my favorite groups!

Yes, I agree. A strong closer will sell more in any market. It's always a good time to buy or sell when the clients have a reason.
