Way to Medicines for Eyelashes Growth

Who doesn’t want naturally long eyelashes? Many people use home remedies like oil mixtures and petroleum jelly to grow their eyelashes, while others turn to medication. Bimatoprost is a medication used to cure inadequate eyelashes.

Bimatoprost

Bimatoprost is an FDA approved medication, which is marketed under the brand names Latisse and Lumigan. Lumigan is basically used in eyedrops to treat glaucoma. Eyelash growth turned out to be a side effect of Lumigan and this side effect gave way to the creation of Latisse. Latisse is applied to the lash line of the upper eye lid, encouraging growth of longer, darker and thicker eyelashes. It is recommended to use the medicine for at least 2 months to see the best results. This is accompanied by single-use-per-eye applicators and should be applied once a day.

A lot of people who have used Generic latisse to grow their eyelashes are satisfied with the results, feel more attractive and confident with their looks. But for your eyelashes to stay longer, you need to keep using this medicine. Once you stop using the medication, your eyelashes will eventually return back to their normal appearance.

Side effects

Like any other medicine, Latisse has its side effects too. Here are a few side effects that most people have experienced after using this medication for eyelash growth:

  • The thin tissue, over the white portion of the eye, becoming red
  • Red and itchy eyes
  • Eyelids becoming darker
  • Hair growth can be found around the eyes if the medicine drips off the eyelids
  • Dry eyes
  • Dark brown pigment can be seen inside the Iris (the colored part of the eyes)

Important!

Color changes because by the medication to the iris might be permanent, while the dark color of eyelids will fade away in some time. You should consult your doctor before using any of these medications for eyelash growth. To be safe, make sure you wash your hands and face to remove any makeup before applying the medicine to your eyelashes.

My friends who have used it complain of very uncomfortable dryness. And apparently the price is ridiculous!

BTW - did you know Bimatoprost was originally developed to treat glaucoma?
