We all know the essential items that should be kept in a real estate agent's trunk...but what about those outlandish items that sound weird, but actually might come in handy?
1. Happy Meal Toys
You never know when your buyers might bring their children with them. If you aren't the type to meal prep, a fast-food kids meal is an acceptable portion-size for a grown adult's meal. The bonus is that you get a neat little toy that all kids would enjoy. Give this toy to your buyer's children to earn extra points with them.
2. Astronaut Food
It would be a good idea to keep non-pershiable cans of food in your trunk - but to be on the list, we must keep it weird. So - astronaut food! You can likely find this on amazon or your local science museum. It's a fun way to build rapport with your clientele by offering them a dehydrated ice cream sandwich.
3. A Shovel
This is a weird item to have for Californians. But a shovel is a practical tool for dirt and snow. Sometimes you'll need to dig your car out.
4. Branded Sunglasses
Branded sunglasses might be more affordable than you'd expect. On sunny summer days, some people might forget to bring protective eyewear. That is where you come in, with branded sunglasses. I know I personally never throw away a pair of free sunglasses, because they might come in handy. I keep a pair of Geico sunglasses in my glove compartment just in case.
5. A Telescope
A pair of binoculars is more practical - but having an antique brass telescope can help you fulfill some of those odd pirate dreams you have. If you are into bird watching, or want to show off a fantastic view in the area you are showcasing - a telescope might come in handy.
Those are just some weird things you can keep in your car to make life easier. If you want to know some things that are more standard, then check out this list of what you should keep in your emergency car kit.
