Things to Do in Charlotte NC - Our Local Lakes Offer Great Summer Fun
What do Charlotteans do for fun during the summer? Well, if we’re not traveling 2-½ hours to the mountains to cool or or 3 hours to the beaches to enjoy the Atlantic, we’re quite often enjoying the area lakes.
The Catawba River feeds into our local lakes - from Lake Hickory to Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake to Lake Wylie, Lake James…and the list goes on! Many enjoy boating, skiing, kayaking, canoeing or just hanging out at the lake - grilling out with family or friends, swimming by the dock or watching the amazing sunrise and sunset shows that Mother Nature provides daily. We are never bored when we’re at the lake!
If you want more than ‘just the lake,’ the US National Whitewater Center is located in Charlotte’s 28214 zip code and is convenient from I-77, I-85 and I-485 and there is so much to do there. From kayaking the rapids to hiking and zip-lining, there is something for everyone at the Whitewater Center.
Many of our communities also have their own lake-front amenities and we are more than happy to share our knowledge of the lake areas with you. We hope you stay cool and enjoy your summer at the lakes as much as we do each year here in the Charlotte Metro!
Looking for a lake home? Let’s talk! There are so many wonderful lake amenities throughout the Charlotte Metro. There is something for every budget - yes, ON the lake!
Many thanks to Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886 for hosting this month's contest, sharing summer fun ideas for our areas. What a wonderful way to provide local information for the consumer!
