Color the Park School Supplies Drive In Charlotte's Ballantyne Corporate Park: August 1st to August 15th.
The 12th annual Ballantyne Corporate Park's Color The Park School Supplies Drive, benefiting Classroom Central is underway. When school bells ring in the 2019/2020 school year later this month, 1 in 2 Charlotte area students will arrive at school empty handed, putting them behind on the very first day.
Some 50% of Charlotte region's students live in poverty. Classroom Central serves over 127,000 students and their teachers across 6 school districts in 199 high-need/high poverty schools. Their mission is to equip students to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies. Classroom Central is the primary resource for school supplies for students in need.
The 2019 Color the Park school supplies collection effort is focusing on the five most needed items:
• Pencils
• Crayons
• Colored Pencils
• Markers
• Highlighters
Don't forget, it's Back-to-School Tax Free Shopping Weekend in South Carolina August 2 through 4. You can pick up supplies to donate and save at least 6%.
You can also make a monetary donation to Color The Park on-line. Did you know that every $1 contributed provides $9 worth of school supplies? This year's goal is to raise $10,000. As of August 1, $625 has already been donated.
Classroom Central Donation Guidelines
