So you're rolling around and life is going smooth.....and then you hear an absolutely ridiculous statement that someone thinks is true but you know it's not. What do you do? My answer would be - it depends on the situation. Which makes sense. If the made up stuff is said in a line at a grocery store I'd probably have a silent chuckle and smile and not say anything. There's so much made up stuff these days...... it's just not worth it to chime in and get involved in the drama. That's just me. You do whatever you want! Some folks like to stir the pot and actually that is interesting to watch as you know they're doing it on purpose! BUT if it's a continuing bashing then....no thanks....count me out.
But what if it's a client making stuff up that so isn't the way things work in the real estate world? What would you do? Again it depends on the situation. If it's my client, I'd calmly ask them to restate what they just said and see if it comes out the same as before. Often times a client means one thing but says something else. Once I've got a better understanding of where their thought process is going.....I can, again calmly, share with them how it really works and the reasoning behind it. And the conversation can go back and forth as long as it needs to in order to help them see how things really work. The key is to stay calm and educate the client to help them roll along smoothly in the process of buying or selling a home!
That's it - short and to the point stuff for Friday. Enjoy your weekend!
Just make stuff up! Friday Fun!
