The buyers of this lovely Washougal home know the importance of stopping to smell the flowers. There are plenty on this property. We first met them at an Open House and they fell in love with the home and the gardens, of course. They are downsizing from a very large home, but still want enough space for entertaining and visiting guests.
At 2860 sq feet, with a huge kitchen and dining room, 3 bedrooms, a media room, and an office, the floor plan suits their needs. One of their favorites about the home is a double-sided fireplace in the living room. It creates a wonderful spot to enjoy a fire outside on a covered deck. We have to agree, it's a pretty wonderful feature.
Their agent called us after the Open House, and after one more look at the property, they submitted their offer. Happily, our sellers accepted and the inspection will be Monday. We aren't worried, as the sellers prepared the property and made necessary minor repairs prior to listing.
We've been hustling to find the sellers a suitable replacement property - a one-level with an easy-care yard. They are in short supply and go quickly. However, yesterday, we finally found it. We submitted the offer last night and this morning we wait to hear. Waiting is often the most difficult part of any transaction, so we'll stay in touch with our sellers throughout the day, even if it's just a quick text.
Moving can be a bittersweet process and we understand the many facets involved, both on a practical and an emotional level. It's an honor to help people make the transition to their next adventure. Today marks the end to a long week, and we are both grateful. We'll likely spend some time tending to our own gardens today.
