How To End Those Google Page 1 Calls For Good

I'm sure these calls do not single out Realtors, every professional must receive them as well. For a time I kept receiving so many calls that I thought.. hey! maybe I should dig in further to see if they really could put me on page 1 of google. The conversation went like this;

 

 

Caller: Sir, we want to offer our services and put you on page 1 of Google. 

Me: Thats great, may I ask.. where are you located?

Caller: We are in Portland, OR

Me: Awsome.. and what is the name of your company?

Caller: We are so & so corp. (I dont want to name them)

Me: Great, and you are in the SEO business correct?

Caller: Yes we are!

Me: Wonderfull, I'm in front of my computer right now.. Let me google "SEO companies in Portland, OR

Caller: Ok.

Me: I've just googled those words and your company does not show up on page 1 of Google.

Caller: Really?

Me: So you're asking me to pay you for something you cannot even do for your own company?

Caller: Hangs up.

 

A while goes by and these calls minimised. Guess I was not the only one that had this concern.

 

Today a new wave of calls started entering my voicemail. This call was somewhat different so I answered. It went like this;

 

Caller: We are calling to let you know that your business is not registered on Google.

Me: As far as I know, my business is registered on Google Ok thank you for that. What is the name of your business so I can update my records?

Me: If you don't know the name of my business, how would you know it was not registered?

Caller: Hangs up.

I wish this would work for me, I get ROBO calls for Google placement.   I just hang up.

I've recently started a different approach.. when I recieve a live caller I ask them if they have any freinds or family living in Vancouver. If they say yes.. I ask them if they are working with an agent.. they hang up and never call again. Why waste a possible referral.
