How to Renew Relationships...We Don't Recommend It !

Real Estate Agent with EXP Realty 414-525-0563 57026-90 Broker

.         On our way to our weekly Nacco Tacho Network Tuesday to meet our newly acccepted offer Buyers, my phone BLEW UP...explodeit looked like everyone we had ever known was sending messages and texts telling us they were not,,,or could not or would not open the attachment we sent them in a Facebook message. Say WHAT ?

I had not sent a message....or an I write this...I just got a text from myself...Oh Geez ! Well it was a pleasant one...just Good Morning !

I immediately changed the password as we had been told to "stop the madness."  The avalanche of messages slowed to a drip.  I later answered all of them individually.  Some were from AR members...clients...agents who were referral sources...other agents in our brokerage from everywhere...quite a variety of people some that I rarely had communication from/with on a regular basis.

lemons Hmmmmm....How to turn this disaster into something positive....not as bad as when Dini drowned my phone....I could certainly still use it. Lemons to lemonade as they say...and it sooo the lemonade season ...albeit with a vodka splash at happy hour.

One message was from an old school asked her what she was doing these days. She said she was thinking of Hawaii....could I recommend an agent ...Yes Yes Yes I could.

Another message was from an agent at our previous Brokerage...How did we like EXP she wondered...Love it...would you lexpike to talk...Yes Yes Yes she would.  We now have a "phone date".

I know the list of good things will continue today !  While we don't recommend getting Hacked as a way to renew acquaintances...near and far...a better way might be to go thru your Facebook directory...address list....and just say "Hi"...I hadn't talked to you in a while...just checking in on what's happening in your life.

This has been an "accidental marketing message" from Sally K.& David L. Hanson,Broker Associates with EXP Realty, honored to be of service for all things real estate in southeastern Wisconsin.

Good morning Sally K. & David L. Hanson -  I love that you call it your accidental marketing message.  I think there was a marking slogan for a body shop that said "We meet by accident"

Good morning, Sally and David - not a recommended method for initiating or reconnecting but as usual you are turning lemons into lemonade.  Hopefully, this mishap and mayhem will lead to some better things.

I totally agree it's NOT the way to do it, but following up personally with all those folks is probably a great idea to keep  you at the top of their mind.

Accidents sometimes turn into great opportunities, so we have to be open to it all.  It seems that daily I see someone posting about being hacked on Facebook, even I got a message from somebody yesterday.
