The idea of living in an uncluttered house probably sounds great to you. However, you always find your home full of things you probably have no use for.

Therefore, going on a decluttering journey can turn out to be an amazing idea. And if you don’t know where to start, here are five home organization tips that are guaranteed to help you declutter your home.

Not only that things like this can make your home feel less organized but clutter can also cause stress which is definitely something you’ll want to avoid.

Go room by room

Probably the worst thing you can do when decluttering is roam aimlessly around your home and try to move things you don’t use too often.

Do this and you’ll probably end up with even more clutter in your home. Instead, we recommend tackling your decluttering project room by room. Of course, there are different levels of decluttering your home.

For example, you’ll first have to deal with things such as paper clutter but once you do that, you’ll have to think about purging your wardrobe that hasn’t been decluttered for years.

No matter how difficult this may seem, as long as you go room by room, you’re covered.

Find a new place for your clutter

As we’ve already mentioned, you’ll probably struggle to throw away most of your items. When facing this problem, you might want to think about finding a new place for your clutter.

This is where plenty of places to rent a mobile storage space and use it for storing clutter.

If you don’t want to do this, you can think about freeing up some garage or basement space and using it to store all of your clutter.

Change your perspective

One of the biggest reasons why some people fail when they try to declutter their home is that they refuse to take a look at things from a different perspective.

If you do the very same thing, you’ll probably have clutter even once your project is finished. Therefore, you’ll want to be ready to take a look at things from a different perspective. We recommend taking photos of every room from at least a couple of angles and using these photos when planning how you’re going to declutter.

If you have kids, you can invite them to help you out. The little ones might just be able to spot a few more items that have to be dealt with.

Try the four-box method

There’s no point in decluttering if all you’re going to do is move things from one room to another. This means that you’ll simply have to get rid of some things you rarely use.

Throwing away items you’ve kept for years can be difficult and that’s why you might want to use the four-box method when decluttering.

Basically, what you’ll want to do is take four boxes – trash, give away, keep and relocate and use them for items you consider to be clutter. As long as you balance these four boxes, you’ll be freeing your home from a lot of clutter.

Experiment with numbers

Since choosing which items to remove from your home isn’t going to be easy, you’re going to need any help you can get.

Luckily, there are ways to use numbers as a way to make decluttering easier. Think of a number and remove that many items from each room that day.

What’s so great about this technique is that you’ll have a goal in mind, which is always going to make decluttering easier. Do this for a couple of days and you’ll be guaranteed to see your home free of any kind of clutter in less than a week.

With these five home organization tips, making your home clutter-free is going to be a real piece of cake.
