Who'd've Thunk It*?  Trader Joe's did. Yes, indeed, this is chocolate hummus.  The demo gal, Kristine, gave Ron a taste, and I declined.

After all, he has great taste, and is a chocolate purist who loves 100% cacao chocolate!  His words to me:  "Don't bother!  This is chocolate homicide!"  We like it not!

"What you see before you, my friend, is the result of a lifetime of chocolate."

Happy Friday, We wish you a delightful weekend!

*The phrase Who'd a thunk it? was coined way back in the 1930s and '40s by Mortimer Snerd, a ventriloquist dummy voiced by vaudeville star Edgar Bergen. Mortimer was a likeable character, but buck-toothed, slow-witted, and famous for saying, "Duhhh.  Wikipedia

Good to know, although, I'd have likely passed on it anyway. Somehow chickpeas and chocolate together doesn't even sound appetizing.  Good for Ron for trying it, though. Somebody has to be the taste tester.

Happy Friday Ron and Alexandra- there are some things you shouldn't mess with and chocolate is one of them. Hummus is hummus and chocolate is chocolate and never the train should meet!!!

"This is chocolate homicide!"

I love chocolate, and I like hummus, but I can't imagine them being good together.

Now that you mention it I probably had heard that years ago from Mom.  If you hadn't brought ito my attention I wouldn't have remembered that distant memory. Thank you for sharing that . I appreciate it.

HI Alexandra... Harris Teeter is a  company that had its origins in North Carolina Now it's owned by Kroger... and operates in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Delaware, Maryland and DC.  But it's still the largest supermarket chain in North Carolina.

They were handing out samples at our local grocery store this week too. It was a national brand of hummus. We actually liked it, but I won't be buying it...too sweet.

I made my own chocolate hummus once last year....again, it was good, and healthier than a store hummus is, but I haven't made it since and probably never will.
