Bubble Day At the President James K. Polk State Historic Site: Sunday, August 10th
If you're looking for something fun and unusual to do this weekend with the kids, why not head out to the James K. Polk Historic Site for Bubble Day? What kid doesn't love playing with bubbles?
At Bubble Day, kids can experiment with big and small bubble blowing, mix up their own bubble slime, and see a demonstration of bubbles created from dry ice. They'll also be able to express their creativity by creating bubble-inspired artwork and adding their personal touch to a bubble mural from Bubble World. The really little ones won't need to feel left out as there will be a water play table to keep them engaged.
Even many long-term residents of Charlotte don't know that the President James K. Polk State Historic Site is home to the birthplace of our 11th President and the only Chief-of-State born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Located in Pineville, a town adjacent to Charlotte and bordering the Ballantyne area, the site sits on 21 of the original 150 acres owned by President Polk’s father, Samuel.
