If you would like to avoid extra charges incurred from custom windows, you should try to adhere to the standard window sizes when carrying out window restoration.

What size window do you need?

To determine the size, you will need to measure the length and width of the window and combine it. The first two numbers refer to the width and the second two refer to the height. Manufacturers add ½ inch to every size dimension so that the window can be easily installed.

Most older homes need custom made windows because they were built long before windows were even being manufactured in large quantities. These homes often need windows in odd dimensions that are no match to standard window sizes. Although the cost of custom-made windows is greater, the great part is that these windows are custom made for you and your home specifically. You will have the assurance that the windows being installed in your home have been manufactured just for you.
