Friday Photo 2: A Moment of Joy--Just Bloomed In Our Garden!

On sunny days, we always have lunch on our patio.  As we were enjoying our lunch today, we noticed this hibiscus had opened up on one of our two bushes.  This was a moment of joy for us, we noticed the hummingbird and butterflies agreed!

Here are some interesting meanings for the hibiscus flower:

  • hibiscus is considered a very feminine flower and so is usually given or worn by women. In North America especially, a hibiscus means a perfect wife or woman.
  • In Victorian times, giving a hibiscus meant that the giver was acknowledging the receiver’s delicate beauty.
  • In China, hibiscuses symbolize the fleeting and beauty of fame or personal glory. It is given to both men and women.

Happy Friday Everyone & we wish you a wonderful weekend!

Hi Roy Kelley

Such a nice reblog.  That is an unusual and beautiful hibiscus. The stamens are usually yellow on the ones I have seen.
