Termites Gross me OUT!

Termites! If you're new to the Valley of the Sun, yes we have them here too! Many people say, in Arizona it's not if you're going to get termites, it's when you'll get termites. Clearly when you see a neighbor's house being treated, brace yourself, you'll probably need to get your house treated also!

Ah, those pesky termites. Termites are worst than a ghost coming to haunt you. Subterranean termites come up from the ground or down from the ceiling. Dry wood termite termites swarm and fly.

The most common Arizona termites are subterranean termites. They tend to go down into the ground to get their water then make a tube going up into the house. They don’t live inside the house. They build a tube from soil, termite poo and other debris, this provides them the capability to go up and down. Most of the time they’ll eat the paper & cellulose from the back of the drywall. They eat around door jams, in the garage, laundry room, and kitchen. Sometimes you'll see a termite tube hanging from the ceiling in bathrooms or closets.

Real estate agents are not trained as termite inspectors. Termites can appear at any time. The house can appear fine in the morning, then a few hours later can have numerous tubes. It takes longer for subterranean termites to do substantial damage.

Termites are a excellent reason to have a yearly termite inspection by a licensed termite company.

I fully agree. Termites are not always obvious, thus a termite inspector is needed.
