I have recently had a client ask about neighborhoods in St Louis where he would enjoy living, so I decided to compile a list of neighborhoods/areas in St Louis.
Following are a sampling of some of these St. Louis City neighborhoods -
Many of these neighborhoods are adjacent to our many beautiful City Parks; great for enjoying the scenery, exercising or just walking the dogs.
I lived in Tower Grove South for almost 20 years and loved it. It is bordered on the East by Grand (Street). Grand south of Arsenal is the area they call "Grand South Grand", the area with all the different restaurants and shops. On the other side of the neighborhood is Morganford. It is also being developed with shops and restaurants. So this neighborhood is bordered on both sides by shopping and dining districts.
Just north of Tower Grove Park (St Louis Gay Pride has been held here, and it is nationally famous for its Victorian pavilions) and Tower Grove South is Shaw neighborhood. Again, another great neighborhood, close to everything. Adjacent to this neighborhood is the Botanical Gardens.
Some other great neighborhoods areas are: Tower Grove East. Benton Park. Soulard. Lafayette Square. Central West End, a wonderful area, but can be more expensive as that is the large hospital and medical school area. Compton Heights neighborhood, with gorgeous, huge Worlds Fair era mansions. Southwest Gardens. Holly Hills. Forest Park Southeast. Skinker DeBaliviere Neighborhood.
Downtown; this area features many lofts living opportunities.
West of Kingshighway, you have Southampton Neighborhood. I lived in this neighborhood when I first moved to St Louis. It has wonderful brick "gingerbread" cottages. Northampton Neighborhood. The Hill. Dogtown neighborhood. Clifton Heights. St Louis Hills, a beautiful area with gorgeous brick homes and "gingerbread" architecture. Lindenwood Park neighborhood. Carondelet Park neighborhood.
Neighboring municipalities that would also be great are: University City There is an area here call the Loop, filled with great shopping and dining experiences. Maplewood. Clayton. Richmond Heights. Webster Groves. Affton. Sunset Hills .
