Wordless Wednesday...No Sugar & Spice Here!
Little girls are so special. I know, I’m probably not supposed to say this but that’s just my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I love my grandsons, nephews, and all of the other little boys in my life, but it’s just so much fun buying for little girls.
It may be because Barbie didn’t come around until I was just moving from dolls to building houses out of books and whatever else I could find. And it isn’t just the dolls! The little girls in my life have been given doctor’s kits, books, trains, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) toys.
This weekend I was at my great-nephew’s 2nd birthday party and caught this shot of my great-niece, JK (better known as mini-me) and my cousin’s daughter. Jemma is about a year younger than JK and looks up to her whenever they’re together.
I love the thought that these 2 precious little girls can grow up to be whatever they choose to be...a doctor or nurse, a teacher or lawyer, astronaut, General, scientist, designer, mother, athlete...whatever and wherever their talents, ambitions, and desires take them.
Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That's what little girls are made of. Bethany Hamilton
