Since moving to the Berkshires, in western Massachusetts, some eight years ago I have volunteered or worked at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops and any number of world re-known musicians, singers, and groups.
I have also had opportunities to greet or scan tickets from some pretty well know people too. You never know who you will see at Tanglewood. Last night for a classical concert with Emanuel Axe and Leonidis Karavkos in a smaller venue on the grounds, I met Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue. It was close to the start time and the line was moving but there were many trying to approach. I looked up and saw Marlo Thomas, and said, hello it is so good to see you here. She smiled and moved forward. Then I saw her husband Phil Donahue. I am a fan and told him so and he asked my name and extended his hand. It was a magic moment. I also told him I admired the work his wife did with St. Judes. He said I will tell her. And then they were gone. Made my night......they are the real deal.
