It's a people business, or it's a business, people.

Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities 303302

I was thinking about how agents around me conduct themselves when pursuing Real Estate. Interestingly, some agents are immersed in a culture of money from day one. hey even shout, Show me the Money! It seems that they are blind to anything not directly related to earning a buck. I do understand competition and the need to profit from ones vocation.

On the other side, I have spoken to agents about their businesses and have asked them if they making money. The answer is always, well of course, I sold X homes last year! Unfortunately, many of these agents have no clue if they actually PROFITED from their sales. They have not quite figured out the business side yet.

I believe the best agents are the ones that operate their business as a business, but have the time and empathy to communicate well with people. They have empathy for those that are in need of our services, and manage to do all this and still make a good living.

If an agent takes good care of their clients and their business, they should be around for a long time. These are the agents that clients can come back to again and again, knowing that they will be well served. den Boer Homes has been around for 14+ years and counting, and we have many returning clients. If you would like to see why our clients love us, give us a call. We would love to talk with you and find out where we can help you.

Good morning Peter. Good agents are conscious of many things and do their best to listen, respond and stay focused.

When an agent really cares it shows in everything they do.  I see all kinds of styles for agents and seems during an upswing they all do fairly well, when the market slows a bit then things change a bit.

Good afternoon Peter den Boer -  some agents are not really in it so that do even know how to run it.  Empathy is very important to building a loyal customer base.

HI Peter- there needs to be a good balance. You have to treat this as a business but at the same time remember that you're working with people and one of the largest investments - monetarily and emotionally- that they'll ever make.

Exactly true....many agents sell and do not realize the expenses they incur...some not soooo necessary.
