Nerdin Gardens 2019: What You Focus On Grows.
Nature has been very generous with a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables this gardening season. Early Spring, we tilled the soil, prepared it for growth, planted and are now reaping the rewards of all our hard work.
Peace roses, red roses, coral roses, yellow, lavender roses and miniature roses offer a bright spot of color as well as white, yellow and pink Hollyhocks with vibrant snapdragons. Hanging flowers baskets pop with bright hues.
Water systems are re-installed every year to avoid broken lines, gaps or over-watering, resulting in blooming flowers, bees buzzing and greenery bursting with color and tantalizing, earthy smells.
Every year the growing list changes for our needs. We grow 6 varieties of tomatoes, from Heirloom to Beef Eater to Cherry Tomatoes that are like candy that we can pop into our mouths as we collect them!
Zucchini, crook neck squash, lemon cucumbers, peppers, peas, pole beans, strawberries, grapes and muscadines all become independently successful, though thriving in the same lush, controlled environment.
Pulling weeds helps provide room for intended plants to grow rather than being choked off by unwelcome guests like; Morning Glory, Purslane and Common Mallow. When untended, these will aggressively overtake.
A robust home garden takes much effort, passion and dedication, much like running a business. Maintaining the work ethic for both is crucial for success, along with implementing good daily habits.
Ignore or neglect and you will fail miserably. We know, as backyard gardeners and also people in business that What You Focus On Grows. Here's to a positive mindset and much continued success to you!
