One very cool and easy to use program I've had to years and use several times a week is Microsoft Publisher.
It's the easiest desktop publishing program I've came across for designing flyers, post cards, business cards, brochures, and any other variety of printed material.
For instance when I want to do a "Just Listed" post card I open up Publisher, pull up a saved format, plug in the new house photo, print it to a PDF file, and e mail it to http://www.expresscopy.com/ in Oregon.
Next I export however many addresses I need from our online MLS tax records, save them in a Excel file and email them to Express Copy to go with my post card I've just sent.
About 2 days later everyone I sent the address file in for will receive a very professional looking post card, laminated, full color on both sides, and with first class postage for 40 cents each INCLUDING THE POSTAGE!
What a deal!
Next for those of you that do flyers for your listings you can set up a flyer from a saved template in about 10 minutes and either print as many as you need or send that job to Express Copy too and get a great looking color flyer back the next day, overnight shipping paid by them, for 39 cents each in minimums of 100.
To save time just have your flyers shipped directly to your new listing and let the sellers fill the brochure box and keep it full for you. One great way to ensure your brochure box is always full when everyone else's is usually always empty.
Heading to a closing??? Open up Publisher and print 3 or 4 sheets of labels with your new buyer's address for them to use until they get some of their own.
Design your own business cards, save the design charges, and either get a local printer to print them or, you guessed it, Express Copy with do that job too.
In fact Microsoft Publisher and Express Copy come very close to equaling one full time employee for me and neither one of them has ever called in sick. ;-)
