Wisconsin Forest Lands, Best Management Practices BMP's for Water Quality
We do a lot of Forest Land Audit work at Woodland Management Service, generally for Investment groups and stock holders of corporate lands.
Recently my son Nick was doing a different kind of audit, he was leading a team of multidisciplinary professionals who are auditing some Federal, State and County lands for Water Quality BMP's or Best Management Practices.
BMP's are important in that they help us to manage our forests in a way that will have a positive impact on the forest as well as the soils and waterways that inhibit the forest.
Twenty years ago, I got involved with this same project and thoroughly enjoyed the interactions involved in getting this diverse team together to analyze these sites.
Although sometimes frustrating, I think that it is good for all of the professionals and the land to have groups like these out keeping the forests and the waterways within them clean and well managed.
Give me a call when you are ready to learn more about wisely managing the forests on your land.
