Good afternoon Debe Maxwell, CRS - people need to pay attention to this one because the news seems to be negative by design.

Great analogy doll I will say you, Debe Maxwell, CRS are an inspiration. Anyone who really knows you would and should be inspired by you.

Hey Debe Maxwell, CRS love this analogy! So true! Focus on what you do have, what's working and the (flat tire) situation will pump itself up!

Debe,
It is easy to get discouraged. We should be thankful for 3 good tires and only 1 bad tire!

I agree, getting hung up on one negative can certainly start a whole trip downhill that is totally not necessary.

Hi Debe - it's a choice, right? And it makes more sense to stay/keep positive. In our thoughts and actions.
Debe Maxwell, CRS

Ourstanding and simple analogy. This is one I will remember, thank you for sharing.

Debe Maxwell, CRS - You certainly have a lot on your mind these days and I've never read anything negative on your posts. We certainly can't control other people or the news but we can choose what to ignore. Our actions do speak louder than words. The tires were a great analogy. Thanks for your inspiration.

HI Debe- loved that very appropriate quote! If anyone can let her positive attitude shine and light everyone's way it's you!!!!!

Thank you - your quote made me laugh out loud.
That is so true - and unfortunately I know people who do just that. No - not slash their tires, but slash their hopes, which is a bit worse.

That's an unusual analogy for the situation, but it works at the end of the day!

Funny, Myrl but, I was looking for quotes about setbacks for today's post, the first quote that came up, based on my search term, was this one! I put together the graphic and as the morning continued to unfold, this quote became even more appropriate, Myrl Jeffcoat!! 🤣
As my Dad used to say, they bite off their noses, despite their faces, Marte Cliff! The news doesn't have to be bad at all - it just is sometimes more than they can take, even if the news is 75% wonderful news. That 25% negative sets them 100% back!
You are so sweet, Kathy Streib - Lord knows I have to give a little extra push sometimes, if you know what I mean!
Thank you so much, Patricia!
Yes, our actions do speak louder than words. I'm always baffled at those who see that 25% of a situation needs mending but, the entire 100% of it is all wrong! So, even though 75% of the news is good, it's such a struggle to see the positive in it with the smallest of negative news.
While I am and forever will be the biggest cheerleader for anyone in a struggle, it's difficult for me to wrap my head around that mindset! 😝
Morning Debe.
Can't say I have never been in that situation, because I have. Now, at this time in my life I just grin and get on with life.

Hello Debe, Great way of writing on this blog and it makes sense. Fingers crose for better days ahead!

I love this one Debe Maxwell, CRS and the timing; perfect since I recently had a very flat tire from a piece of embedded metal.

Such a bright light you are, Debe! Always look for the positive, in ANY situation...you and I think the same. BTW, at your prompting, I've added a new listing on my blogsite. Been awhile and a busy year here for real estate, but I have been reticent about blogging for a few months now. Just broke the spell!
Thanks for being YOU. We all love you!!!

So true, and learning to count your blessings or having an attitude of gratitude can be very helpful when all the negative stuff arises. Doesn'tmean some days are not overwhelming, but we know enought to overcome them after a day or so seeing all the other positive things going on in our lives.

I just had a month where I really had to just step away a little because I simply lost my motivation to get it done. One deal and clients on both ends being beyond unreasonable and I got a case of the "I can't take it anymores" and it took it getting behind me to get my attitude adjusted again. Most of the time I can push through with a smile on my face. But I had to hide in my office for a couple of days last month. Now things are all right with the world again.

Hi Debe:
I love that quote - it's a good one to keep in mind. It can be easy to get sucked into negativity because of one occurrence. You can't change the negative occurrence but you can be in charge of your attitude about it and follows.
Jeff
Debe you provided good advice and the graphic you posted is spot on.

The inability to see the forest for the trees comes to mind with folks like that too, Sheri Sperry - MCNE®!
Isn't that the way, Grant Schneider - it's like that in any form of news too.
And, you inspire me, Hannah Williams - bird of a feather! 💕

That is so sweet of you to say Debe Maxwell, CRS You are the BEST
There you go, Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886 - I should have known you would see eye-to-eye on this topic!
There's that half-full glass again, Michelle Carr Crowe,Altas Just Call...408-252-8900! If only everyone saw its effectiveness! 😉
It is truly a downhill spiral, Kat Palmiotti and we're so smart to focus on the other 3 positives...eventually that 1 negative will turn to positive if we keep focusing on the positives!

You're so right - it IS a choice, Michael Jacobs. It would be nice if everyone honed in on the positives, for sure!

Hi James Dray! Most days it is so much easier on us to just grin and move on - you're so right!
Today was even better, Will Hamm! He was actually making us (his sister and me) laugh this morning as we were video-conferencing with him! ❤️ 💕

Ouch! I absolutely hate getting flats and it seems that we get them so much more often these day - especially in the new construction communities, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland!
Aren't you sweet, Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate! I'm so happy to see that you've added a new post. I totally understand how we get so busy and wrapped up in the moment, we forget to post. I typically wind up posting most of my blogs for the week on Sundays - the only day that I take off...most of the time!

I have had to spread my time out because I handle numerous sites (two of my own websites, Google My Business, two Facebook pages, my own photos for listings, my own fliers...you get the drift). I noticed that I wasn't really getting business from my AR blogs, but I've learned a tremendous amount about SEO, so time here in the past wasn't wasted.
It became a bit more social than anything else. So...had to find some balance. That and a new puppy, my hubby's career shifting completely and a new 100' garden--all this year!!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Christine O'Shea! I really do try to stay positive. Life is just too short not to, right?!
I remember learning about having an attitude of gratitude years ago, Nick. I thought, "Oh, that'll be super easy - I'm always grateful..." As positive as I am, it took some thinking some days to truly focus on that mindset. Now, it's second nature but, boy, who knew it could be challenging?!
We live such fast-paced lives that we forget to take time to focus on our gratutities. And, boy, you're SO right, Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543, some days, it's a little too overwhelming but, we DO push through!
Oh, I am so sorry, Tammy Lankford, I had no idea you were going through that. You know you can always pick up the phone and call me. I do know that there are times like that - you really just want to get through it on your own! Just know - call if you need me! ❤️
Everything we do after a negative event can be changed. I just don't think that everyone realizes that sometimes it's best just to step back and think rationally - realistically! I remember my Dad's lesson - more often than I care to mention - "If it's not going to matter in 5 years, put it out of your mind!"
So far, that has served me quite well in life, Jeff Dowler, CRS!
Oh thank you, George Souto! You know, most of the time it takes me longer to create the graphic than to write the post! LOL So, it means a lot that you noticed!
Holy guacamole, Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate - and I thought my life was full! You are amazing to get all you get done, DONE! I need some of your energy, please?!!

You have a TON of energy, missy! One of the reasons why we understand each other. We just get'er done, don't we?? I miss talking with you.
Love this quote at the top, it's a keeper.

LOL I know - we need to resume! Ray started his Denver stint and it's exhausting going back and forth. I am living by my calandar but, not sticking to our calls and I feel horrible. Hopefully someone will take the baton and allow me to be a participant for a few months...or permanently!
Hugs, Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate!
Well, thank you, Kris Collis! It was fitting for a situation someone near and dear to me is going through...and he's notorious for honing in on the negative...no matter how small! 😝
Debe Maxwell, CRS , it is so true that there is so much life and power in the attitude. A setback should not make you want to slash the three good tires...' nor want you to take a huge paint brush and make a big 'X' on your newly painted large canvas. Setbacks, obstacles, challenges are all part of the lesson we are learning. Great post, Debe!

A little late to this party but a day ahead of Monday! So agree. If one person or article sets you back, get back up and focus on the next goal, the next positive thing. You of all people do a great job at subscribing to this advice! Happy Monday a day early!
