This Week...Some Very Old Wisdom
This week I decided to look at some of the wisdom from a distant relative (JUST Kidding!!) of mine. You could put what I know of Confucius on the slip of paper that comes inside a fortune cookie.
When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. Confucius
The 5 virtues he taught were: Charity, Honesty, Knowledge, Integrity, and Propriety.
The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home. Confucius
These virtues certainly aren’t new or revolutionary. We were taught The Golden Rule before we even started school. Our parents and teachers stressed telling the truth and learning.
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. Confucius
There’s much more to his teachings, of course, but it seems to me that if we can strive to practice these virtues daily, we would all be better for it, and also in doing so, those around us will benefit as well.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Confucius
Have a Virtuous Weekend!
