Arizona's job growth continue to trend in the positive, with another high point achieved by ranking second best in the US for yearly job growth. Thanks to more more than 80,000 new non-farm jobs between June 2018 and June 2019, employment growth in Arizona rose 2.8%.
Notable occupations that contributed to the growth are from the education healthcare services with more than 23,000 new jobs each, construction at over 18,000, and business services adding 13,500. Since 2015, more than 300,000 new jobs have been created and 165,000 new jobs are expected to be created in 2020.
Gov. Doug Ducey credited in a statement "the hard work of employees, job creators and entrepreneurs and Arizona’s pro-business policies, low taxes and light regulations" for the robust state of Arizona's economy.
Not only is it enjoying the fourth fastest-growing economy in the country in 2018, Arizona also ranked second for personal income growth and placing third for economic momentum. This can also be seen in the upward trend in wages, small business growth, and business development, with the Phoenix area adding 42 new businesses and three corporate headquarters in 2018 which translates to more than $1.18 billion in capital investment and more than 8,600 jobs.
