The summer season is waning, the days are getting shorter and Tanglewood will soon be over. This is the eighth year I have worked there and it is largely the same. Decisions are made in Boston and I think of it as upside down world. Does this make sense? No, then let's do it. That is the way many organizations operate. The people who have little connection to the venue are the ones who decide how things go.
I am working tonight. It is a Boston Pops concert. Next week I am going to see Gladys Knight with the Spinners, and then I work twice more and it is done for 2019. I am glad I have learned to smile and turn my head off. The venue is amazing and I am lucky to have this in my neighborhood. OK then.
