Real Estate Agent

Architectural design is the concept which focuses on elements or components of an architectural structure. So, an architect is the person who is given the charge of the design. These professionals work with the elements and create a functional structure. Architectural design mainly focuses on the functionality and aesthetic factor of the structure. The design works to make a space that gels well with the surroundings.

Before you begin with the project, it is important to work with the architectural team and create a plan. Establish the features you wish to include, the structure and user requirements. A powerful framework is the initial step towards creating a structure that meets your needs.

Benefits of an architectural design

There are in fact a lot of benefits associated with the design. Here they are:

Architectural planning keeps in focus security from the initial stages of planning. An intricate architecture means that the professionals are factoring in safety at each step.

With proper planning, there are few or very less chances of failure. So when you are fully prepared to handle things, you should have a reliable plan to stick to.

No room for errors

With a foolproof architectural design, there are chances that you avoid the design errors. This will help in taking your project to the next level without any interruptions.

What’s involved in the process?

There are various steps that are involved in design process of a project. Every step is important to have that desired feel, safety and look of the architectural project.

Programming level

Programming is the action of determining the plan or program that needs to be followed. Programming is basically when you meet with the architect and discuss the needs for the project. During this phase, your architect will take details on your site and this is the time when the architect and the owner will start to have a cohesive relation and share the final concept for the project. This is also the phase when the budget will be discussed.

Schematic Design

Then comes the schematic design where the architect takes all information regarding your needs, taste and he will create 2-3 designs for you to review.

Design Development

In this level, the architect will take your schematic design and will develop it to an approved concept. So any changes you wish to make to the design will be done during this phase.

Construction Documents

Construction documents are then provided to the contractor. The architect will put together the drawings and details so that the contractor can follow the same. These drawings serve as an instrument to communicate the project to all those who are involved in the construction. It is during this phase that the architect will talk with the engineers, landscape consultant, interior designer etc to ensure that there is coordination between all. At this stage of architectural design, the focus now shifts from designs to communicating the designs and giving all details necessary for the construction phase.

Your architect will be busy at this phase as they will be turning their preliminary drawings into documents that your contractor and subcontractor will use to build your project. Each detail gets noticed at this phase and all attempts are made to include all possible queries into the drawings.

Construction phase

The final construction starts once you find a desired contractor and you settle on the design concept that fits your requirements. Your architect will get in touch with the contractor throughout the duration to ensure that the project is being made as per the plan.

The architectural design process is different for each project and from one designer to the other. The stages as mentioned above are the steps to the process but every designer will have their own style and levels of working and will develop a different set of ways. The whole design process is thus based on your needs, ideas, views and inspirations. And even though you will have some concepts from other influences, designs, but ultimately the final architectural design will be a reflection of what you want. So, this is all about understanding what is architectural design. We hope you have an idea of how and where to start.
