Class of 1927. Old picture. About what year taken? Dress styles.

Wonder what year this was taken.

Under the picture is written "Class of 1927."  There is no address or name of a school or town.  This is just one of those thrown-out, no-longer-cared-about pictures that some family treasured but their heirs don't.

One of my associates asked what year I thought this might be.  Could you tell by the dress style?  I see all ladies wore skirts, and all skirts were the same length.  I do remember my mother fretting about the current year's dress length to be in style.  Not that I thought she was stylish but evidently she cared and the length varied from year to year.

Experts on style, what was the possible year and age of these folks?

Good morning, Barbara - my guess is 1952.  I am thinking it may be a class reunion.  25 years after high school graduation based on age and type of dress.  It would be interesting to know the truth.  This photo would likely reveal many more stories.

I'd say the late 50s. I'm basing that on clothing, hair styles, and possible age of participants.

Michael, good guess and someone else has estimated the 50's.  It must have been a fairly big class to have so many attend the possible reunion.  Thanks for the comment.

I agree with Michael Caruso.  The photo appears to be from the early 1950s.

Barbara, I found the same photo in a newspaper clipping as I was clearing out more things from the house. It was taken at the 20th reunion of the Redstone High School (Uniontown, PA) class of 1927. I also found a newspaper clipping of the same class taken in 1977 at their 50 year reunion. I've found several old photos you might be interested in seeing.

Glenda, you have solved the mystery.  So these people were at their 20th class reunion so it would have been 1947.  You know I love the old photos so save them for me.  And it was from Uniontown, PA.  Thanks so much!!
