Earlier this summer, I returned to my hometown of Roanoke, Virginia, and its multitudes of attractions set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I had to jump through some hoops to reactivate my real estate license here in Virginia (not as easy as I was led to believe when I took my took my initial licensing classes in 2004), but am beyond psyched to be back to my hometown and closer to my extended family.
I am also very fortunate to have my first listing here, the address is 734 Eddies Road . The house is set right on the flanks of Brushy Mountain, in the beautiful Blue Rodge Mountains that I spoke about earlier. Each time my car climbs the road to my new listing, I am reminded of the long thru-hike that I made many moons ago on the Appalachian Trail. Ahhh, the wonders and pains of hiking the AT...
Back to my new listing, 734 Eddies Road in Salem, Virginia is a contemporary ranch that was built in 1970. It resides on almost three-quarters of an acre, and is in a wooded, beautuful location with Winter views of Salem and the Blue Ridge Mountains. In the past two years, the current owners have renovated the house with $18,000 of new windows, and they removed the carpet that was in it when they bought the house, and replaced them with $3,000 worth of relatively pet-friendly laminate flooring. The current owners also had to have a waterproofing company perform their duties when water bubbled up from the slab less than two years ago. That work was completed, and a transferrable warranty is available for the next owners.
I was just able to enter the new listing yesterday, and already have a few viewings set for today. I hope that you will have an opportunity to show it to your clients as well before it goes under contract.
