That Gnawing Feeling

Gnawing may sound bad...just listening to the word...imagining destruction...but there can be a sunny side as pointed out here !

There is almost always something gnawing at me. No rest for the anxious. LOL

Sounds like a perfect analogy for the beginning of a new school year. Even those of us long out of school often seek new beginnings in the fall.

Dear Michael Jacobs,  I loved your post and it is probably a main stream of consciousness in my mind that each of us individually and all of us as a whole are much more than whom we believe we are.  It is the basis of what I believe -- my mission  'here' on Carl Sagan's 'Blue Dot,' Planet Earth.  So many things came to mind as I reread your post that perhaps I could write a chapter in a book - and I will save that part to do so later.  In the meantime, I know we both have Birthdays this month and there are some strong connections and similarities in our connection.  Sooooooooo, my dear Michael, I instead offer this song by John Denver (David Pomeranz also offers the song with a little clearer lyrics).

Oh, when I think of gnawing feelings, it's the one that makes you feel like your stomach is gnawing on itself - because you're starving! 

...and, yes, so it goes, Michael...

It absolutely does and you are so wise to recognize that too. It's such a habit for many to skip meals and it really does more harm than good - both nutritionally and your body also holds onto fat, contributing to weight gain. It's a vicious cycle!

LOL I JUST took a shot of my dinner plate - yes, eating late but, I stay up later than most too!

Anyway, it's a salad plate AND I use a salad fork - well, unless I go out to dinner or if I am at a dinner party! I have done that for decades - I think it makes you eat smaller bites and fill faster! Who knows if it works or if it's in my head but, it works for me.

This was a different one I hadn't heared before. However, I like it.

I also thought of hunger when speaking of gnawing feelings.  Down to basics here... time to eat.
