Just because you live in suburbia doesn't mean that you cannot give your kids a taste of farm life. Hop in the car and buzz on over to Kidwell Farm at Frying Pan Park in Herndon VA today.
Never been to this farm? That is soooo wrong....
The county has put in a carousel, wagon rides and as always there are animals everywhere. Baby goats and pigs were my favorites this time.
Not only are there baby pigs, but lots of other storybook type animals who are extremely good at making all the appropriate farm animal sounds that you have been attempting to imitate while reading to your children. (always check the website which usually tells you what baby animals are there. They are born at different times of the year. There were 3 baby goats a couple weeks ago but the baby pigs had grown up considerably in the last 6 weeks and were no longer as cute.)
Come on over and let them hear what a real pig sounds like.
This a Fairfax County Park Farm that actually crops and raises animals for you to see.
The live turkey that is presented to the president of the United States on Thanksgiving has often retired safely here.
Located off West Ox road near its intersection with Centreville road, the farm is just outside of Herndon on the Chantilly side.
Here is the address for your GPS and the phone #: 2709 West Ox Road • Herndon, Virginia 20171 • 703-437-9101
