Monday is Labor Day! It's the unofficial end to summer, and while historically, we do continue to get hot weather into September, the Dog Days of Summer are winding down.
The Dog Days of Summer is thought of as the period of time with the most uncomfortable hot and sultry days. In actuality, the meaning of the phrase is linked to the the dog star Sirius, and its position in the sky.
Regardless, when it gets hot in our area, Mac, our white Golden Retriever always knows what to do - seek out water, any water. It's a great escape and a surefire cure for the Dog Days of Summer.
This post is for Anna Banana's Active Rain Dog Days of Challenge for August. Nothing like getting it in just under the deadline wire. Since this is going to be sent out in an email blast to our SOI tomorrow, we are keeping the text rather short. The video will tell the story.
We've not used this video for an end-of-summer email blast before and it makes perfect sense to use it. Therefore, we are grateful Anna came up with the Dog Days of Summer idea. Naturally our white Golden Retriever instantly came to mind.
Mac is always a likable star for videos and any of our videos featuring him tend to be the most popular. And for the most part, they are timeless. In fact, this video was shot several years ago while visiting with a group of friends called the "Golden Girls."
The friendships developed while walking our dogs ( mostly Goldens) at a local dog park. This particular day was hot and all the dogs were laying in the shade, except our goofball. He made a run for the sprinkler with a big finish in the kiddie pool.
This video reminds us to capitalize more often on Mac's charming personality and good looks in our video production lineup for this Fall.
