Hi Everyone, from Central Florida! We in Orlando are very grateful today -
yes, tired and exhausted mentally and physically from a week of worry and
preparation for our battle with Hurricane Dorian. Originally we were in the
path of a direct hit, but in the end the Dorian Hurricane - storm, winds, and
rains took a turn and traveled a path north in the Atlantic on to Georgia,
South and North Carolina and Virginia. It attacked our Florida east coastal
areas and beaches; robbed us of sand.
Our thoughts and prayers are for those who suffer(ed) loss from the disaster -- heartbreaking. And we - in Florida, in Central Florida, in metro-Orlando
were spared and say prayers in gratitude. Thank you, my ActiveRain friends
for remembering all of us - for your kindness in keeping us in your thoughts
and prayers. We are grateful. ~Jane
"And once the storm is over, you won't remember how you made it through,
how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure whether the storm is
really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you
won't be the same person who walked in. That's what this storm's all about."
"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and
willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending
that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The
challenge will not wait. Life does not look back." ~Paulo Coelho
"Strength and courage aren't always measured in medals and victories.
They are measured in the struggles they overcome. The strongest people
aren't always the people who win, but the people who don't give up when
they lose." ~Ashley Hodgeson
"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive
characters are seared with scars." ~Kahlil Gibran
"If you do not believe that hearts can bloom suddenly bigger, and that
love can open like a flower out of even the hardest places, then I am afraid
that for you the road will be long and brown and barren, and you will have
trouble finding the light. But if you do believe, then you already know all
about magic." ~Lauren Oliver
"Hurricane season brings a humbling reminder that despite our
technologies, most of nature remains unpredictable." ~Diane Ackerman
"The Universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful
waste of space." ~Carl Sagan
"Some people can find peace in the middle of a hurricane; that's the person
I'm striving to be." ~Stephen F. Campbell
"The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you."
~Neil Degrasse Tyson
" Let's take a moment to be thankful."
"Gratitude is the fairest blossom that springs from the soul."
~Henry Ward Beecher
