August 2019 -UT Southwestern Ranked #1 Hospital in DFW

Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

When relocating to a different state or city, taking into consideration what kind of Hospitals are available in the area is very important. In general, people move about from city to city or relocate from other states or countries. In times of an emergency, seconds count. Nobody really plans to go to a Hospital as they plan for a vacation, but when medical help is needed, people want what's best for their loved ones and themselves.

For the third year in a row, UT Southwestern Hospital ranked number 1 in Dallas-Fort Worth and number 2 in the State of Texas. For a list of cities included in Dallas-Fort Worth you can get more information from Wikipedia (click the link for information and statistics). The news about UT Southwestern Hospital ranking was reported by U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Hospitals listings released this past July 30th.

Important things to know about UT Southwestern:

    • Ear, Nose & Throat
  • 5 additional high-performing specialties include:
    • Cancer
    • Gastroenterology & GI surgery
    • Ophthalmology
    • Orthopedics
    • Pulmonary & Lung surgery which also includes Procedures for the following:

      • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Patient satisfaction and good outcomes are what patients want and what they deserve. Distinctive academic medicine through new facilities and innovative partnerships improves efficiencies and lowers overall patient cost.

A major benefactor to UT Southwestern Medical Centers for more than three decades is credited to the late and legendary Texan H. Ross Perot Sr, who passed away on July 9, 2019. Perot's loyalty, commitment to his country, and family, including saving the lives of employees from his own company EDS makes him an icon and a hero who managed to do the unthinkable for his God and Country. You can read all about H. Ross Perot Sr's TEAM: The Eagles, "a group of volunteers from the executive ranks of a great American corporation, hand-picked and trained by retired Green Beret officer."

"THEIR MISSION: To penetrate a heavily guarded prison fortress in Iran and free the Americans imprisoned there." Against all odds, Perot's mission was a success. H. Ross Perot, Sr spent his entire life giving back and doing great and successful things for many people, including serving in the Military with the U.S. when he began his services to his country when he enrolled in the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland and becoming Class President in his Junior and Senior year.

UT Southwestern benefited from his generosity and leadership. Together, Ross Perot and his wife Margot, and the Perot Foundation contributed more than $90 million to UT Southwestern including $50 million to the Innovations in Medicine campaign. As a result, excellent opportunities for education continues for future physician-scientists, research, and care.

Also reported in the U.S. News & World Report earlier this year, UT Southwestern received recognition as one of the top medical schools in the country for a second consecutive year from Nature Index as one of the top 10 health care institutions in the world for publishing high-quality scientific research.

As an outpatient at UT Southwestern in Dallas this morning, I can attest to the quality of patient care, compassion, cleanliness, knowledge, care, and extraordinary services by Staff and Medical Doctors, Technicians, and Nurses. Best of all, for me personally, the experience was stress-free.

Patricia as you stated access to good hospitals is very important.  We are blessed where I am to be so close the the hospitals in Boston, and very close to Yale New Haven Hospital.

Hello Patricia - generous support of people help make high rankings possible at places like University of Texas Southwestern.  This is something that becomes a part of an image of a community and enhances its reputation.

George Souto - I place Hospitals and Medical Facilities as a top priority. I don't even consider restaurants, entertainment, and shopping as important.

You're a smart man, George. You have your priorities in order.

Michael Jacobs - It definitely increases the probability of success for a community when lifesavers aren't sitting by the pool, but getting the best education and using their skills in the Medical Field.

UT Southwestern is very generous to graduates too. This is where my graduation ceremony took place when I received my MBA in December 2002. They have the best inspirational speakers too.

Patricia, what a wonderful shout-out to the outstanding hospital in your area.  I am making a note of this.. sometimes we have to choose someplace outside our area for medical services due to the smallness of our rural community.

1~Judi Barrett - If you ever want me to check anything out for you, I'll be happy to. I didn't realize how small your community is but I get it. I once lived in a small rural town with less than 8,000 people in Illinois. The area was unincorporated too.

Good morning, Patricia... good medical facilities are a critically important consideration when thinking about a place to move to. Charlotte is very fortunate in that regard. And I "sell" that feature of our city when I work with prospective relocating buyers. (And the older I get, the more I realize it's important to live near top medical facilities.)

Good morning Patricia. Access to top notch hospitals is very important as we age. Many don't consider it until it is too late. Enjoy your day!

While I agree that having great hospitals in the area is wonderful, my goal is to never end up in one of them!

This can be a huge consideration for people moving to an area. And as Nina Hollander  mentions, with increasing age comes an increased need/desire to be near a highly rated facility.  You've done a great job selling UT Southwestern Hospital.

Oh, I love this post - what a wonderful shout-out to UT Southwestern Hospital. You have reminded me that I really do need to highlight ours here in the area.

I am forever 'selling' our major medical/trauma (Level I) center to those relocating to our area. We have lots of hospitals in the area but, to know that there is ALWAYS a multitude of physicians present with state-of-the-art equipment at their fingertips, makes a world of difference. I worked at the Level I trauma center for 15 years so, of course, I've enjoyed watching it grow over the years too!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
