This weekend in Bucks County go and spend a September afternoon perusing the Doylestown Arts Festival, visit the “Making Astronauts: Bucks County to the Moon” exhibit in its final weekend and enjoy live music at Crossing Vineyards.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

First Friday on the Delaware

Explore the quaint and historic riverfront town of Bristol Borough. This free, family event has something for everyone, including: live music, arts and crafts, food and goodies, crafters and many vendors!

Always…Patsy Cline

It’s the last weekend to catch this exciting show at the Playhouse! Always…Patsy Cline is a showcase of 27 songs, described as a valentine to the friendship between housewife Louise Seger and Patsy Cline, a great American music icon. Reservations are required.

When: September 6 & September 7

First Fridays: Jazz Night

The taproom gets classed up with the smooth stylings of the JT Beaver Trio. Chill out and grab a pint to welcome in the first weekend of September!

Summer Concert Series

Unwind from a long week on the lawn at the Market at DelVal! Enjoy locally sourced refreshments, and LIVE entertainment! There’s fun for the whole family, with inflatable attractions for the kids and an on-site creamery!

When: September 6, 6 p.m.  to 9 p.m.

Summer Wine & Music Series at Crossing Vineyards

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of The Fabulous Grease Band: ‘50’s to ‘90s Rock ‘n Roll! Wine, beer, Crossing “Crushies” and light bights will be available. You won’t want to miss this relaxing night in the vineyard.

When: September 6, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: Crossing Vineyards and Winery  
Cost: $15 in advance, $20 at the gate

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

28th Annual Dolyestown Arts Festival

It’s that time of year again! The Doylestown Arts Festival will feature 160 juried artists, live music on five stages, local food vendors, live art and interactive demonstrations. Come see this showcase of creativity in Bucks County!

When: September 7 & 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Downtown Doylestown
Cost: Free to Attend

82nd Annual Oktoberfest

You don’t have to buy a plane ticket to Germany to enjoy an authentic Oktoberfest! Dance to music from The Philadelphia German Brass Band, watch a soccer game and taste a variety of German beers. Kids can play on the Moon Bounce, Obstacle Course and Playground!

When: September 7, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: VE Club – Vereingung Erzgebirge
Cost: $5 in advance, $7 at the gate (Kids 16 and under are free)

From Here to There

It’s the last weekend to visit this hands-on, family experience that explores the science of how things move from place to place. Take a ride on the hovercraft to experience how air pressure works and turn up the heat to launch hot air balloons!

When: September 6,7 & 8
Where: Mercer Museum  
Cost: Included with General Admission Ticket ($8-$15)

54th Annual Polish American Family Festival & Country Fair

Take a trip to Poland right here in Bucks County! Bring the family for music and arts & crafts. Get a taste of the culture with traditional Polish foods. View re-enactments and stage shows, and then watch the kids satisfy their thrill on all the rides.

When: September 7 & 8, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

Thompson Bucks County Classic

Watch top men and women cyclists from all over the world compete for championship points in the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour. Amateurs and children will also get a chance to race on the professional course!

When: September 8, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Downtown Doylestown
Cost: Free to Attend

Making Astronauts: Bucks County to the Moon

Inspired after the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing to learn more about space exploration? Head over to the Mercer Museum for an out-of-this-world exhibit featuring the impact Bucks County had on the mission to put a man on the moon. It’s the last weekend to visit!

When: September 6, 7 & 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Mercer Museum  
Cost: $8 - $15

Member’s Art Show and Exhibition

Spend your Sunday afternoon browsing original artwork from over 50 local Bucks County artists and artisans. You’ll find art in all mediums including watercolor, photography and pottery among others.

When: September 7 & 8, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Artists of Yardley (AOY) Art Center
Cost: Free to Attend

“Elements of Art” An Exhibit of Abstract Acrylic Art by Skyler Granville

Skyler Granville is a 23-year-old painter who lives in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Skyler paints with his feet using his toes, and recently started experimenting with a paintbrush, which has produced an interesting evolution in his work.

When: September 8 – November 1, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Bucks County Visitor Center
