Old Vegas Bob might finally be headed home to Las Vegas
Ever since the real estate market crash in 2006 - 2007 I have struggled on keeping a steady job in Las Vegas Nevada working as a glazier (glass installer).
In 2014 I had to move to the Bay Area in northern California to work construction. Finally now after all these years Las Vegas has finally picked up in construction. Sure Las Vegas has had construction during the years between, but not enough to employ me or my younger brother that also works as a glazier.
It has been very frustrating working in Las Vegas in construction for 14 years and then having to move to California because of some crash in the economy. My brother and I are really looking forward to getting back to Las Vegas and it has been more difficult for my brother because he has had 3 children over the last 5 years growing up very fast without him living in Las Vegas.
I have around another 2-3 years working as a glazier so at the end of the day I am very happy knowing my days are numbered within the glazing business. After I am finished glazing I will continue to pay my union dues to stay active and get a break on my medical insurance until I can get on Medicare. Then I will spend the spring, summer and fall months building 3-4 new homes per year in Alaska.
