A Weekend Of Festivals And Fun In Charlotte To Welcome The 2019 Fall Season:

If you're in the mood for fun this weekend to usher in the new fall season, here are five great, not-to-be-missed festivals in the Charlotte metro area. There's something for everyone... from music to art to food to beer to welcome Oktoberfest season... and much more. No doubt that the Charlotte area is welcoming the 2019 fall season with a "bang."
Festival in the Park
A true Charlotte tradition, Festival in the Park has been bringing good music, good art and good times to Charlotteans since 1964! You'll have three days to enjoy the Festival in the Park:
- Friday, September 20: 4:00 pm till 9:30 pm
- Saturday, September 21: 10:00am till 9:0 pm
- Sunday, September 22: 10:00 am till 5:00 pm

Mecktoberfest
Come on over to the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for the perenially popular (11 years and going strong) Mecktoberfest and celebrate the new fall season with fresh beer, traditional food, and Bavarian music. And don't forget your lederhosen and dirndl skirt! You'll have three days to enjoy Mecktoberfest:
- Friday, September 20: 11:00 am till 11:00 pm
- Saturday, September 21: 11:00 am till 11:00 pm
- Sunday, September 22: 11:00 am till 10:00 pm

Carolina Irish Fest
Hosted by Charlotte's Irish-American Connection, come out and enjoy Irish music and dance, food, drinks, a bounce house and face painting for the kiddies and more. The Carolina Irish Fest is on Saturday, September 21 from 1:00 pm till 9:00 pm at 419 East 7th Street in Uptown Charlotte. Advance tickets are $10 and kids under 12 are free. Monies raised by the Carolina Irish Fest are for the development of a Charlotte Irish-American Center (CIAC) as a non-profit, multi-use amateur sport and cultural facility.
Main Street Oktoberfest In Fort Mill
Fort Mill's Main Street will be alive with shopping, music, Oktoberfest themed food and beverages, food trucks, kids activities and more on Saturday, September 21st from 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm. Plus 20 local artisans will be displaying their wares on Main Street.
Enjoy live music by the Threshold Band on the Main Street stage from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm.

University of North Carolina/Charlotte International Festival
The UNC Charlotte International Festival has been going strong since 1975 in recognition of the Charotte region's growing diversity. In previous years attendance has reached 20,000. It provides a marketplace representing some 50+ cultures/nations. as well as music and dance from a variety of nations presented on indoor and outdoor stages. And both admission and parking are free! But keep in mind, you can also take light rain up to the Charlotte International Festival. Click here for printable map of the Festival and events schedule.
The Festival takes place on Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm.
