This week, we received an email from a member in Active Rain. The embed code was missing from her YouTube channel. A quick check of our channel confirmed that we too were missing the embed code. We weren't able to discern why, but did find a forum with others discussing and complaining about the issue.
She needed to embed a video in a post and needed an immediate workaround. Fortunately, there are custom YouTube Code Generators available for free. Basically, you provide the video URL and it generates a code. We sent her a link to one of the that is often recommended, Classynemisis. Today, we also found another we like, especially for the ease of selecting custom options.
And, while the embed code generator is working again our YouTube channel, but we'll still be using this custom option. The main reason is the ability to get rid of the suggested videos without having to add code. The auto-generator does it for you. However, you will need to check the box.
This is the setup we used to get the code for this video. Note, we changed the size and added enhanced security and privacy settings, and chose, "Do not show related videos on playback."
We think it's wonderful how certain hiccups in life can lead to new discoveries! Happy YouTube Thursday.
Much like Anita Clark 's Facebook Fridays, we encourage you to subscribe to each other's YouTube Channels - and take a minute to "like" or leave a comment. You can also add your own YouTube Channel in the comments below, and ask for subscribers. Be sure to subscribe back though - it's quid pro quo!
