Fall In Sedona

A Wonderful Time of Year!

Sedona Fall squirrel and seeds climbing a tree

Fall Splendor!

My favorite time of year has arrived. The weather is always perfect. Crisp air in the AM, sunny and high 70ºs to low 80ºs.  Fall color won't start in Sedona until late October or early November and usually goes through Thanksgiving.

Hiking and Tourism

We are already seeing more tourists and more hiking. The temps start out in the high 40ºs.  Just two weeks ago the lows were in the low 60ºs! However, we will not see freezing temps for quite some time, usually around Thanksgiving.

Squirrel Bandit!

During the fall or autumn season, our squirrels like to stock up on seeds and nuts. You will find them in the oddest places!

Hi Bob Crane,

I have a couple of chipmonks that are more active. It is fun to watch them scurry around.

So true Barbara Todaro

The critters have a built in sense for the change of seasons.  They see the shadows shift, and temperature change and everything then kicks in!

Hi James Dray

This guy does seem to have it all figured out.  I took another video of him with a different kind of bird feeder, that I will share later .

Hi Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland

Our spring and fall seasons are much longer than other areas of the country. I will be sharing these types of posts up until Thanksgiving.

What I like right now is that we can leave the windows open all day long.  No air-conditioning or heating. All we do is adjust the windows!

Hi Brian England,

Cooler temps are here. Summer does not last long in Sedona. Right now, there is no need for AC or heating, just open windows bringing in the smell of pine trees and junipers.

Hi Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS

I see more of the chipmunks scurrying around than the squirrels. But the squirrels seem to get into the feeders much easier.

Love the hummingbird photo - spectacular, Sheri! And that squirrel video is hilarious - I LOVE watching them! I have a squirrel feeder that I keep peanuts and other larger seeds, etc. in - they are so fun to watch.
