It's hard to believe summer is over today and that the first day of Fall is tomorrow! Where did it go?
Tomorrow, September 23rd, is the Autumnal Equinox, when the day and night are of approximately equal duration. No doubt you have also noticed how much shorter the days have gotten (well, the daylight, that is).
The weather is still beautiful, but with cooler nights, and we are seeing changes in the flowers, and the tree leaves. And the orioles have migrated south.
Stores are celebrating Halloween, and have been for some time, as well as Christmas, still 3 months away.

Today is the 2nd day of ArtWalk Carlsbad 2019, on Armada Drive overlooking the Flower Fields and a panoramic view of the ocean.
And in case anyone cares, here are some birthdays and historic events that took place on August 22.
Hi Jeff - while some may be rushing to the year end festivities and the arrival of 2020, it's good to experience all the joys of the last day of Summer as we welcome Fall tomorrow
Our summer was a bit cooler that I would have liked, at least early on. It's my favorite time of year so I hate that it is passing, although fall is pretty nice and we can get some pretty warm weather in October!!

Jeff even though tomorrow is the first day of Fall, our weather is suppose to Summer like all week. I got a feeling this will be the last of the warm weather for us until next Spring.

Jeff maybe according to the calendar Summer is over but my A/C is working overtime today:)) as to the nights and days, yes Diane complains to me all the time that it is getting dark when she gets up and it is dark when she gets home:)) we had a big discussion that it was lighter in the evenings when we lived in Boston....is she right??Endre

Hi Jeff... the calendar might be saying fall, but the weather at my end of the world is still saying summer! And I have a feeling it will continue to say that for some weeks to come.
Yep the weather has been fairly warm but I definitely noticed the air quality change at night.
Yes, I think it was lighter in the evenings in Boston because we were further north, but that was for the summer. I think in the winter it was dark earlier.
Actually it's rare for it to be in the 90s along the coast...typically the warmest is low 80s unless we have the Santa Ana winds. But go inland 10 -15 miles it can be 10-20 degrees hotter in the summer than where I live...and that suits me just fine.
Ha! Ha! Until this day, I didn't even realize we had the last day of September and that Fall has begun!
There is plenty of Halloween stuff here in stores too! I'm not feeling the Fall yet and my grass still needs cutting. I'm just going with the flow as I feel certain, you are too!
