No, Is Not the Only Answer; Keep Asking and Your Homeownership Dreams Will Be Achieved.
Recently we sold a home to a long-term tenant and it was a day of joy for both of us.
When she first started renting with us she had no interest in ever buying, but last spring things changed.
The change came when I mentioned to her that I was going to list her home, and that I would be offering her a closing bonus if she kept it clean and cooperated with the showing agents.
Her response surprised and delighted me, she said how much she loved the home and the location, close to work and family.
And asked me if I could help her to find a way to buy it.
So off we went on our mission to get her financing, I was surprised when my first go-to lender turned her down.
I was surprised, she was expecting it, yet she still felt defeated.
Reminded me of my start in homeownership, 3 kids, a fledgling business, and a wife earning less than $10K at a Catholic School.
But we found a way, and I knew that she could too.
It took a while to get her to try again, I went into the lenders with her, several times.
And with the right plan and the right lender we had an approval.
She was happy to own her home, be secure in a permanent home, and I was so proud of her for sticking through it and achieving her dream.
She did it, and so Can You!
