Just as with any other profession, there is no shortage of companies pushing to sell items for which they feel there is a need. In the real estate business, the most plentiful entities are real estate leads.
Z is known for that, and they secure those leads with OUR listings!!! Most agents don’t hesitate to sign up with Z. Desperate people fall hard for desperate measures.
However, there are many companies on much smaller scale, but their monthly fee is outrageous. There are contractual agreements signed by the parties.
I know of agents who have signed a contract; paid a monthly fee; and received nothing viable for leads. The leads were described by him as “junk.” They would not let him out of the agreement, and he needed to hire an attorney to make that happen.
To this day, I do not understand why anyone buys leads. Learn to market for your own leads, and if you have too many, refer them.
If you do not have funds for marketing, offer to cover open house events. You may not make a sale, but you are likely to secure a new buyers. Remember, buyers are also sellers!!
Agents beware of the many companies in existence who will convince you that they will get you on track. They hound you with the thought that they will save your business.
No one will save your business except you. It’s yours to save and/or to create its demise. It’s solely your choice, but expect to spend time, thought and effort to secure future clients.
