There are lots of reasons to choose Chelsea Tower as your new home. The properties are very reasonably priced - less than $200,000 for a one bedroom condo in the fall of 2019 and the building is close to Walter Reed Medical Center and the new Marriott Headquarters. There are lots of amenities including a swimming pool and it provides easy access to Dulles Airport. Good news!  Chelsea Tower is FHA Approved!

Located at 7401 Westlake Terrace, Bethesda MD, the Chelsea Tower Condominium is across the street from the Westlake Towers Condominium and within three blocks of Montgomery Mall. These condominiums are well priced and the condo fees cover all utilities.

The building is just a short walk to Montgomery Mall and the large food court and movie theaters. The building also provides very easy access to I-270 and the Beltway.  Happily, traffic noise is virtually non-existent! 

Chelsea Tower Condo Choices

The Chelsea Tower Condominium is a high rise building just minutes to I270 & I495. Built in 1983 it has 238 units,  from one bedroom one bath condos with 841 square feet to 882 square feet. The two bedroom two bath condos are approximately 1100 square feet in size, and then there are three bedroom two bath condos that are approximately 1300 square feet in size. Unlike the upscale buildings in downtown Bethesda, Chelsea Towers represents a real value in terms of price per square foot. An 800 square foot 1 bedr 1 bath condo will sell for less than $200,000 but with a condo fee around $450 a month.  It is possible to buy a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the lower 200,000s, but the condo fee will be in the $500s.  A large three bedroom two bath condo might run  into the mid $300s with a condo fee around $650.  The condo fees - which are still less than downtown Bethesda fees- have kept the price of the condos lower than one might expect for the square footage. Check out all the properties currently available.

The Chelsea Tower condo fees fall into the mid range of condo fees in Bethesda (particularly for this price range), but the square footage for the units is very large.  For example, the condo fee for a 1300 square foot 3 bedroom 2bath unit is approximately $650 a month. Another unit that was approximately 850 square feet had a condo fee just slightly more than $450.  Sadly, the condo community does not allow pets.

The condo provides an outdoor pool, tennis courts, all exterior maintenance, party room, sauna and exercise room.  There is underground parking for residents, lots of surface outside parking, and storage units with many of the condos.  

Chelsea Tower is located on a quiet street which ends at a charming little lake. The high rise and its property are surrounded by Cabin John Park, one of Montgomery County’s largest parks. 

 

LIVING AT THE CHELSEA TOWER CONDOMINIUMS

The Chelsea Tower is a high rise on the edge of Bethesda with spectacular views of Cabin John Park! With Montgomery Mall (Westfield Mall) just a few blocks away, residents love being able to walk to Nordstroms and all the smaller shops like Abercrombie or Apple that you will find at the mall.  Restaurants are there too – California Pizza Kitchen, Bobby’s Burger Palace, Cava Mezze Grille, a newly renovated and enlarged food court, and the upscale movie complex, ArcLight. Please don't miss my favorite restaurant at the Wildwood Shopping Center, the Oakville Grille, on Old Georgetown Road. The nearest grocery stores are the Giant at Old Georgetown Road, and the Balducci’s in the Wildwood Shopping Center.  There also is a Giant at the Cabin John Shopping Center, about two miles away and a Harris Teeter at I-270 and Montrose. 

One of the best features of life at Chelsea Tower Condominium is its proximity to the Cabin John Regional Park.  There you will find a miniature train that runs through the woods, creating endless hours of joy for little people and their parents, a dog park, tennis courts, and one of the best ice rinks in the area.

 

SCHOOLS DISTRICTS FOR CHELSEA TOWER

Chelsea Tower is located in the Walter Johnson High School cluster of the Montgomery County public schools. Students that live in the Chelsea Tower condos will attend Ashburton Elementary, North Bethesda Middle School, and Walter Johnson High School.If you are looking for an excellent high school, you should definitely check out the homes at Chelsea Tower.  Walter Johnson has been rated #6 for high schools in the entire state of Maryland.

Nearby private schools include Landon School for Boys, Holton Arms, Stone Ridge, Mater Dei, and Georgetown Prep.

PET POLICY AT CHELSEA TOWER CONDOMINIUM

Lise Howe - As they say, it's all about location! Location! Location!

This sounds like the perfect place for people who prefer to eat out and enjoy the movie theater too. As you pointed out, there's a lot to do and a lot to enjoy at Chelsea Tower Condominium!
