The Beauty of the Greenbelt in Idaho Falls Idaho Check out the Falls!

By

Memorial Day weekend was a great time to get out and walk the greenbelt. The flowers and trees were blooming.

The geese were showing off their new babies.

The falls are a little high with the spring runoff, and the rapids are beautiful. Much different than when they were frozen!

Crossing has a wonderful fountain in the middle of a turn about with wildlife, and an eagle. Idaho Falls was was originally called Taylor's crossing, and then the name change to Eagle Rock. More the history  can be found in an earlier blog I wrote about the history of the falls.

The greenbelt can be enjoyed from the many hotels in the area.

Thanks. I was glad to see things blooming and starting to look like spring. We had one nice day that weekend. The next weekend was warm and sunny. Since then the weather has been windy and cool. We even had a freeze warning the night before last.

The Greenbelt was a great place to be on the Fourth of July. We have wonderful fireworks that are the biggest west of the Mississippi. Also they started having a festival on the Greenbelt during the day. We had food venders, games, and bands. It was fun to check out the vendors and the booth. We enjoyed listening, and  dancing to the bands until time for the fireworks. If you ever get a chance to be in Idaho Fourth of July stop by, and checkout the festivites at the Greenbelt.

Julie,

Thanks for sharing your photos.  It looks like a fantastic place....I'd love to see the frozen falls too.

It was a pretty sight. Not too fun having the weather that cold though.
