Where Did YOU Get Your First Listing?

Perhaps you are a new agent, or maybe you need a little refresher on the fundmantals to strengthen the skills that may have gotten rusty over time. So we have compiled a list of the most common ways real estate agents gained the first listing.

1. Expired Listings

Not everybody likes cold calling but you can't deny the effeciveness of calling expired listings. If you have a good script, stick to it because it will lead you down the pathway of a natural conversation that steers in your favor.

2. FSBOs

How dare somebody try to list their home without hiring a professional! At the end of the day they are spending more time and money by not using an agent. You know this, let them know this. FSBOs can be frustrating, but the supply is always replenishing itself.

3. Networking

Real estate is a social business, so what that means is that you must be social. Keeping in touch with old friends and family can prove to be a very valuable habit to maintain. Through networking, rookie and veteran real estate agents alike can generate leads to get their first listing.

4. Facebook Groups

An untapped goldmine of potential real estate clients, especially if you have no sphere to network with, is Facebook groups. By joining local groups that share a common interest, you can build relationships like you would in real life. Those relationships can often turn into business partnerships when nurtured correctly.

I got my first listing networkworking, and boy did I learn a lot! Got an offer and Seller went directly to the Buyer and told him to wait until listing was done and then he'd sell it to him for a reduced price if no commission involved. People never cease to amaze me

Really nice post.
