I new what I wanted to be when I grew up... I just couldn't be it. I wanted to be Emmett Clark. Emmett owned and operated Emmetts Fix-it Shop on Andy of Mayberry. I had the skills it's just by the time I became old enough (notice I say old enough... I never did "grow up") we were already living in a disposable world and one just can not make a living fixing general stuff these days. That being said, my talent for fixing just about anything was handy when I was a Realtor and Property Manager.
One of my previous lives that I enjoyed was that of being a professional photographer. While working for United Photographic Industries of Galion OH I lead several teams that did photography at churches. The division of that company was United Church Directories. It was GREAT until the owners retired and sold it to a morally void company called Lifetouch. As United Church Directories they were cutting edge with the first digital cameras in the business.
This lead me to try a little photography on the side that I called Robare's Studio. I did very little business with Robare's but it helped me build my love of photography. Although the day of digital had dawned and I was using the latest in commercial equipment for United my camera of choice in Robare's Studio was an old Russian medium format camera called a Lubitel. There was a learning curve to this camera but for me it was well worth it. I took many beautiful pictures of many beautiful people with that camera. Regrettably my Lubitel was also a casualty of the flood we experienced in 2011 but even seeing a picture like the one above of the old Russian camera brings joy to my heart.
Photography is a great companion to Real Estate and it was one of my previous lives that I enjoyed then and still today although my subjects today are family, flowers, and bunnies.
