Oh, I'm the same way, Candice A. Donofrio! Just like hearing both sides of the story - we then can often see both sides but, from that, form our own opinion. I much prefer it that way too!

Good morning, Debe --- okay, I saw "pie" in the post title. I admit, it caught my attention but the filling(of those words in your post) was. as usual, quite satisfying.

HaHa! Are you hungry this morning, Michael? I'm happy you found the words satisfying!
Happy Monday, Michael Jacobs!

I hate that about the world too, it is way too common for people to just go with the flow and allow things they know to be wrong so that they don't upset the apple cart.

Happy Monday Debe, I want both, I like to hear both sides then make up my mind. The taste of pie sounds good, but also like to have the recipe in case there something in there I can not figure out what it is.

Since I rarely bake anyu more, yes I can, my opinion is a bit bias. The one thing for certain, I steer clear of almost nearly all political discussions lately. I know, maybe the coward's way out, but just seems to help my appetite. One slice of hot apple pie with French vanilla ice cream please. cheers cvc

Good morning Debe Maxwell, CRS - a variation to the quote, Three sides, your side, my side, and the real side,. I have beliefs and convictions although I try not to shove them on other. I try to be a consensus builder.

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS,
I agree with what you are saying. I have put it this way for a long time. Unfortunately, I don't remember who I heard it from. I am sure most have heard it.
Here it is... There is your side of the story, there is his/her side, and then there is the truth! Every person sees or hears something through the prism of their own views and you have to dig much deeper to get to the truth.

Debe,
I definitely want the recipe. I can make the pie as many times as i want to my own liking.

Debe,
This reminds me of my favorite quote by Rumi, A
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.

I have that printed out in a frame on my desk. Great quote
Oh, I so agree, Brian England! I will say that yu will rarely get me in a political discussion - right or wrong, no matter which side you're on, you're NEVER going to convince the other side that you are right!! ;-)

Oh, I'm forever substituting or adding ingredients to my recipes, Will Hamm! I just love experimenting and knowing what the 'base' is, allows us to build a new recipe each time we make it...until it's perfect, of course! LOL
There are too many people who are no longer willing to listen. It is a strange phenomenom. I keep my mouth shut far more than I ever did when I realize that nothing I say will make a difference. Nice post, lady!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - when it comes to a slice of pie or any food for that matter, I'm very picky about what I put into my body. I want to know more, what's inside, and that determines whether or not I take a slice of somebody else's pie. I also consider other factors, such as where is this food coming from, whose recipe is it, is it safe to eat, and then I decide if it's good enough for me to try.
By the same token, if somebody feeds me garbage, I pretty much know instinctively, I'm not going to take anyone's poison or garbage. When in doubt, I'll pass. I am a curious sort of person and if something sounds too good to be true, I don't accept what's being served by the tongue to influence my mind unless I'm certain it's the truth.
This is a really good post with lots of food for thought!

Debe I agree there is two sides to every story, and we learn through our difference. However, these days it seems tolerance only extends to those who agree with each other (which requires no tolerance at all). I often wonder how did we get to this point.

That's a good question, Debe. I will admit that I'd like to try the pie to see if I really need the recipe first however!
The thought has me remembering a saying my dad often repeated though. He said, "If you give a guy a fish, he will eat for a day. However, if you teach him to fish, he can eat for a lifetime."

Hi Debe, I can't top these features or what others have said. I agree with so many. I would like my pie - as that is a great way to start. But then as I learn more about baking pies, I think I would like the recipe - and make some changes. But the best option, I think, is to have someone else make it for me, and deliver it too.

Morning Debe.
Pity, this wasn't a feature. Anyway, most people start railing without knowing or being told the "why".
