I Am Grateful For

OOpsortunity

I Am Grateful For OOpsortunity As a native Angeleno, I am well aware of bumpy roads.  I also know that the road of life is rarely straight and narrow.  At least I haven't found that to be true. I am certain I am not alone acknowledging that this road can have many detours. Twists and turns of all kinds.

Although, it may seem I have revealed much (definitely more than my somewhat reserved personality might typically share - mind you)there are many moments that I do not share.

Mistakes occur.  Things go askew.  And we know stuff happens.  We can look at opportunity in a number of different ways.  That which has a favorable outcome and those times when opportunity seems to make itself known when we least expect it.

We may understand that opportunity can be found throughout life when we remain "open" to the concept.  "OOpsortunity" is a word I coined(perhaps there was someone before me, it's always a possibility) that I used recently in a comment on ActiveRain for a post by Kathy Streib.  Although the comment was made over a month ago, my thought of oopsortunity turned into an opportunity for the current ActiveRain challenge.  The gist of the word, as I see it, is a mistake that turns into an opportunity.   I am grateful that opportunity is part of my thinking hence so is an "oopsortunity".

An oopsortunity can be a real opportunity when you keep that mindset and thought process in place.  Does this occur all the time for me?  Absolutely NOT.  But it can happen enough for me to continue thinking...  Ah, it's not a mistake....it's not a glitch...ir is not another problem....yes, it's an "oopsortunity".  I mean if Sally Sally K. & David L. Hanson can conjure up creative real estate terms such as curbalicious and thinventory with great regularity, why can't I create new words too?  "Oopsortunity".  Pardon me....

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - unfortunately, Jimmy Durante(one of the people who is quoted as the source of "I've got a million of 'em" is no longer around to worry about lawsuits but I am sure there are some heirs who might be checking with their legal counsel.  I think we're safe...

Worthy feature and love the concept of an oopsortunity. I think we should all have one at least a year.

Enjoy the creativity Michael Jacobs  When I used the word OOPS, I always write is as 00P$ because the OOP$ in life more often than not cost money.

Now this is a word I've never heard before and love it, Michael!

I remember, back in the day, someone shared that there is a resturant in Canada with the name of Curbalicious?

Thinventory is trademarked (since the early 2000's I believe) - it's something to do with an engineering/technology gizmo. Not sure what it is but, I can tell you that I've never heard anyone say Oopsortunity - that is original!!

I think we all work hard to turn those oopsies into something positive too. Love this post, Michael!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - I an glad you liked the word oopsortunity.  Turning mistakes, errors and/or a kerfuffle into an opportunity is a regular routine in life for me.  It's definitely not always successful but it's so much better than looking at the negative side of thing.  At least I think so.

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - thank you.  I admit that while making mistakes is part of my DNA, I don't use the word oopsortunity each and every time it can be used but it's a part of life.  For me.
