Being happy does not mean that everything is perfect all the time. It’s a mindset that realizes that happiness comes and goes in waves. It’s something that makes you feel more confident, stable and at peace.
In order to become this person, you have to do the work and practice controlling your mind. And the following 5 will make a big impact on how you feel every day.
1. Set goals
The point about having a goal is not about reaching a goal, but about having a goal is about the process of growth that happens during that journey. The challenges, the learning and the growing that happen in that process.
By facing all these hurdles we are able to find more self-confidence, joy, and fulfillment in life and ultimately become happier.
2. Question your thoughts
Do not believe everything you think. Because they are not always truths and sometimes our brains will even try to trick us. That is because our brains are created with a natural negative bias aimed to keep us safe and comfortable.
So in order for you to think neutral or even positive, you have to question your thinking. Especially, because our thoughts about who we are are massively influenced by what other people told us about ourselves. Our parents, our teachers and our friends for example.
3. Don’t let your inner critic take over
We all have an inner critic that will talk you out of your intuition. He is important and only wants to sustain our survival. However, it gets tricky when you allow your inner critic to run the show and make the decisions.
That distorted thinking will oftentimes knock you down and make you feel like you are not enough. Therefore, it is so important to learn how to handle it better. Because that inner critic will otherwise keep you living a limited life.
4. Have a relationship with God
As the source of all creating, God connects us to everyone around us and our inner purpose. By developing a relationship with the creator, you are more connected to who you are truly meant to be and get to tap into the mind and thoughts he has about you.
I believe that a relationship with God brings happiness and contentment because we know that loves us and has the best in mind for us. If that is something you desire that the easiest way is to start by reading different scripture on happiness and find out for yourself what happens means to you.
5. Don’t compare yourself to others
In today’s culture, it’S so easy to get distracted by other people’s success. We start to compare ourselves to their highs and lows, feeling good or bad about our own lives, depending on the tweet, picture or video they share that day.
That habit is so toxic.
Someone else’s journey is none of your business because it has nothing to do with you. All it does it wasting your time, your emotional energy and spiritual well-being. The only thing that is your business is how you overcome, you grow and you become your best self. So keep your eyes on your own journey.
These 5 for more happiness are sure to shift your perspective and your mindset. Because even a small shift day after day can have a big impact.
